Thanks again for visiting YourLifeNature.com

Helping people bring more of nature’s contemplative power, energy and stories into their lives through photography is just one of the ways I help people sustain and revitalize their connections to the natural world.

YourLifeNature™ Mentoring Programs help you connect more fully and deeply with nature, no matter where you are in life. I am passionate in serving as a knowledgeable, skilled, patient experienced mentor and guide to help you make nature connection a vital, harmonious, joyful and peaceful part of your life, too!
My experience as an outdoor and international educator, Yellowstone park ranger, naturalist guide and entrepreneur have helped me create a process that helps you quickly connect with and relax in the beauty of the natural world, and better equips you for navigating life changes, challenges and opportunities through your deepened connection with nature.

But there’s way more to the story that I’d like to share with you, so here’s a quote from Marianne Williamson as the background setting for what’s to follow:

“...Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

For a long time I hid a huge part of who I was because it felt dangerous and potentially even deadly to do anything otherwise. After Mathew Shephard was murdered in 1997 I gave up all hopes and dreams of coming out at that time, as I was living not that far culturally or geographically from Laramie, Wyoming, where this young man’s life and light was brutally snuffed out.

It took another seven painful years of bottling up who I was inside before I felt like I was finally going to explode and burst. I loved working and being in Yellowstone National Park, yet I also strongly felt that I couldn’t come out, be accepted and live openly as a gay man there. I felt stuck forever in a rut of my own fearful choosing, and that it was impossible to bring my full nature to the table, even in a place that I deeply loved.
Yet embracing what was initially terrifying, uncomfortable and unknowable was the portal to freedom, and to reclaiming my natural gifts and passion for helping others connect more deeply with nature, and the meaning and purpose of their own lives.

Nature didn’t care who I was or whom I loved, and that’s where I first found the courage, the strength, the tenacity and the hope that I could be who I am, no matter where my feet are. I refuse to stay stuck anymore, or surrender my power, freedom and choices the way I consistently did earlier in life.

This will always be an exciting, dynamic process and journey, as is life and nature itself. Deep, consistent nature connection to nature, no matter where I’ve been living, has been crucial to staying unstuck.  Have no regrets at the end of your life over the things you thought about doing but never got around to, for life is now. Right now.

If you are tired of feeling stuck, held down or held back, remember that there’s always a glimmer of hope, no matter what your circumstances may be.

If you desire greater independence, freedom, wisdom and healing through consistent nature connection,
know that nature is always waiting for you to show up and be present, no matter where your feet are.

If you’re ready to learn from nature and embrace change more confidently, courageously and pro-actively
, remember that there’s help from people who are traveling a similar life path to yours, who are a ways further down the road.

If you’re ready to let your unique light shine and share your own natural talents, passions and gifts with the world,
please know that it’s not or never too late to get started.

Be your bad-ass independent, natural, true, authentic self.
The world is waiting, and it is indeed a lonelier and darker world without each and every one of our lights shining.

Here Is What Some Clients Have Experienced
From Our Work Together:

"I have spent time in nature all of my life and wanted to deepen my connection. I wanted to learn from what I already know, rather than taking a class with people of varying experiences. Hobie’s mentoring has been perfect. He carefully listens to my experiences and offers suggestions suited just to me☺ Hobie mixes up the methods of discovery and learning. I don’t want to tell you what methods he uses because the surprise element is fun and he may choose different processes for you. One part of my journey has been to plan a “River Vision Quest” which didn’t turn out exactly as planned but lead to lots of learning. I felt like Hobie was there with me all the way and I stretched myself beyond what I would have on my own. He is excited as I am about my discoveries while offering his many years of experience and wisdom in nature. Hobie finds ways to relate ordinary life to nature to bring healing and clarity. I enjoyed working with Hobie on the phone, through emails and mail to deepen my connection to nature. How lucky am I to live in New York and receive guidance from Hobie Hare who lives in Montana!"

"When I heard Hobie speak in a teleseminar series, he resonated with me right away. He is a very kind-hearted, gentle soul who shares similar values and goals with me.

Hobie started out helping me to incorporate nature-based teaching into my coaching with kids and adults. But as we worked together, I realized he could help me in other areas.

I am in the process of building my first business and I wanted to create it in a holistic, interconnected way. I didn’t know quite how to do this, but Hobie has helped me tremendously in creating a solid business foundation, and in communicating my strengths as a health coach who values organic, nature-based approaches to healing and wellness.

In business building, my thoughts and visions were very scattered and Hobie intuited what I meant and what direction I wanted to head in. I felt myself really open up and was able to speak freely my thoughts.

Hobie stays on task, is very respectful of time and provides very clear visions that fit me and my business so well. The times that I felt discouraged or somewhat lost, he quickly and easily set me on a fitting path. I just really like him. Thanks tons, Hobie!"

"Before I started working with Hobie, I was spending almost all my time inside my home office or out in suburbia. I was feeling tired and run-down.

Through our work together, I have regular and consistent time in nature, from mini-connections where I walk along the creek right by my condo, to weekly trips to my favorite garden, to bigger monthly outings.

Most importantly, I am consistently filling up my "internal energy tank", so I'm relaxed in the moment and refreshed for the week ahead.

Hobie gave me an EASY way to come up with ideas and act upon them. He also helped me see the connection between what I struggle with and what I gain in nature, and how that relates to my work coaching women business owners through their struggles and triumphs.

Hobie's non-judgmental nature and extensive nature experience make it a joy to connect and work with him!"
